1. Evacuate the area and wait for the aerosols to settle
2. Prepare the spill kit materials
3. Place the gauze pad on the site of the spill, starting from the outer corners into the center
4. Spray 10% sodium hypochlorite onto the gauze pads, soaking the whole area
5. Using the tong, pick up any sharps or solid material that may be present. Dispose of it in the sharps container.
6. Using the tong, pick up the gauze pad and use them to wipe the area. Dispose of it in the biohazard bag.
7. If necessary, reapply a new gauze pad and disinfect the area with residual stain
8. Seal the bag and dispose of it in the yellow trash bin with a biohazard symbol.
9. Perform proper hand washing technique after cleaning the spill.
