Technical Policies and Procedures Manual
➢ Primary document for airline’s Maintenance &
Engineering (M&E) operations.
➢ Defines exactly how all M&E functions and
activities should be carried out.
➢ Usually written by Engineering, to ensure technical
accuracy from inputs supplied by management of
various M&E organizations.
Inspection Manual
➢ Contains inspection activities within M&E
• Mechanic inspection tasks from MPD
• Quality Control (QC) tasks
• Special inspections (hard landings, bird
strikes)
Reliability Program Manual
➢ Defines the reliability program in detail
➢ Must be evaluated and approved the

➢ Issued as a work order, provides instructions how
to perform a complex maintenance task.
➢ Maintenance actions not covered in the standard
maintenance plan.
➢ Written and developed by the Engineering
department
Airworthiness Directives
➢ A notification to the operators of a type-certificate
aircraft that a known and identified safety
deficiency on a certain part/product exists and
must be corrected.
➢ Issued by the authorities, compliance is mandatory.
