What is Hess’ law
The enthalpy change for any chemical reaction will be the same regardless of the path taken as long as the starting conditions, final conditions, reactants, and products are the same.
What is the First rule for enthalpy changes
If you reverse the chemical reaction, you must reverse the sign of ΔH.
What is the second rule for enthalpy changes
The magnitude of ΔH is DIRECTLY PORPORTIONAL to the # of moles of the reactants and products in a reaction. if the coefficients are multiplied by a factor, the value of ΔH must be as well.
