Earth's Main Layers

The three main parts that divide the Earth: the crust, mantle, and core (inner and outer).

Crust

The outermost layer of the Earth, divided into continental crust and oceanic crust.

Mantle

A thick layer of liquid and semi-liquid material that moves around between the crust and dense liquid core.

Magma

A liquid comprised of molten rock, minerals such as Iron and Magnesium, and gasses such as Carbon Fibers.

Core

The centre of the Earth, consisting of an outer core and an inner core.

Outer Core

The liquid core layer made of nickel and Iron, about $2.2\,km$ thick.

Inner Core

The center of the Earth made of solid nickel and Iron, about $1,220-1,270\,km$ deep.
