they are not able to make decisions for themselves to provide voluntary informed consent - for example: children, cognitively impaired indiv
or can also be due to the situatio they are in ( being incarcerated or being insitutionaiized)
they can be eaily manipulated/they may be a convenient or readily available population
Who is a vulnerable individual?
people in need of additional protections or considerations
pregnant women, prisoners, human fetuses, racial or ethnic minorities, instutionalized persons, neonates, indivs with physical disabilities, children, economically, socially disadvantaged, indivs mental disabilities or cognitive impairments, terminally ill or very sick
Those who are vulnerable have been subjected to one or more of ther 4 types of abuses …
