Posterior (Dorsal) Cavities
Contains the cranial cavity and the vertebral (spinal) cavity
Thoracic Cavity
Thehollow spacein your chest enclosed by your rib cage, spine, and breastbone that protects your vital organs for breathing and circulation
Contains the heart, lungs, and the large blood vessel
Abdominal Cavity
Upper part of the abdominopelvic cavity
Contains major organs of digestion, excretion, and the endocrine system
Stomach, Liver, Gallbladder, Spleen, Pancreas, Small intestine, Most of the large intestine, Kidneys (located toward the back of the abdominal region)
Pelvic Cavity
Lower part of the abdominopelvic cavity
Contains urinary bladder, rectum, reproductive organs
Cranial Cavity
The space inside your skull that contains your brain.
Spinal Cavity
Contains the spinal cord
**Think of spine as a protective tunnel around the spinal cord
Right Upper Quadrant
Liver, Colon, Pancreas, Gallbladder
RUQ pain → typically gallbladder/liver issue
Left Upper Quadrant
Liver, Spleen, Stomach, Colon, Pancreas
LUQ pain → typically spleen/stomach issue
Right Lower Quadrant
Colon, small intestines, major artery and vein to the right leg, ureter, appendix
RLQ pain → typically appendix issue
Left Lower Quadrant
Colon, small intestine, major artery and vein to the left leg, ureter
LLQ pain → typically sigmoid colon issue

Lions: Liver(UR)
Sleep: Spleen(UL)
Around: Appendix(LR)
Cats: Colon(LL)
Cranial (A)
Portion of the head that surrounds and protects the brain.
Facial (A)
The face
(Parts of your head in front of the skull, such as the eyes, nose, mouth, and cheeks.)
