Sensory memory
information from our senses. Our eyes, ears, tongue, nose, skin and more. It only lasts a few seconds and is then gone unless we pay attention to it.
Short-term memory
We store the stimuli we experience, for a short time – between about 12 and 30 seconds. We may encode it into long-term memory, or it may be lost.
Long-term memory
Information is stored for a very long time, maybe our whole life. It includes facts and skills.
