“A” → deformed “A” in it


“I” → think of an eagle


“U” → looks similar to the hiragana


“E” → think of engineer (construction, girder)


“O” → think of opera singer with open mouth singing “OHHHH!”


“Ka” → looks like hiragana counterpart


“Ki” → similar to hiragana + resembles a sort of key


“Ku” → think of cooks head


“Ke” → letter “K” in it


“Ko” → 90° corners!!


“Sa” → think of two fishes on a stick: a sardine and a salmon. Also fish means さかな in japanese


“Shi” → a girl smiling. She has a weird face


“Su” → superman (or his suit) running with the cape flying back


“Se” → looks like the hiragana


“So” → needle with string because you sew things. REMEMBER: Needle ALWAYS vertical!!!


“Ta” → looks like a kite. Kites are called たこ in Japanese → ITS A KITE WITH A TACO IN IT


“Chi” → think of cheer leader doing a cheer


“Tsu” → two needles and a thread → NEEDLES VERTICAL!!!!


“Te” → looks like telephone pole


“To” → like a totem or the kanji radical “Toe”
