what are the characteristics of society in pre-industrial Britain

communications and transport was limited

wide-spread illiteracy- lower class uneducated

harsh and violent society (amongst lower class)- but the upper class lived in luxury

minimal free time due to agricultural work taking up a lot of time- free time was seasonal (so they could only play MOB games seasonally)

two tier society (feudal system)- upper and lower classes

Most of the population lived in rural areas

sport was violent- harsh society

Mob football was played seasonally- agriculture work and limited free time
