Continuous measurement examples
frequency, duration, latency, irt
Frequency
how many times the behavior occurs
Duration
how long the behavior lasts
Latency
time between the instruction and the behavior starting
IRT
time in between 2 behaviors and or responses
What is the difference between continuous measurement and discontinuous
continuous is data taken throughout while discontinuous could be only the last 20 minutes of session
What are examples of discontinuous measurement
partial, whole interval, and momentary time sampling
What is partial interval
the behavior is recorded counts as an occurrence if it occurs at all in the interval (just counted as 1 even if it occurs 4 times)
What is whole interval
if the behaviors occurs during the entire interval it counts as an occurrence (like staying seated)
What is momentary time sampling
if the behavior occurs at the end of the interval it counts as an occurrence
What graph is most commonly used
line graph
What would go on the x axis
time
What would go on the y axis
behaviors
What are examples of trends
increase, decrease, no trend
In a preference assessment what is the role of the RBT
to assist the BCBA
How often should preference assessments happen
constantly and or often
What are examples of preference assessments
single stim, forced choice, multiple stem with and without replacement
What is single stim
the one chosen at the end of the choices
What is forced choice
the one chosen the most
What is multiple stim with and without replacement
With replacement is replacing the item taken out until there is only one and with without there is no replacement
What is ABC data
Antecedent , behavior and consequence
What is dtt
Discrete trial training
How does dtt work
it is usually at a table and it used an SD to demand the behavior and there is reinforcement for the correct answer
What is done before chaining can occur
task analysis
What is forward chaining
the first step is done independently and there is prompting throughout the rest of the steps until done entirely independently
What is backward chaining
the last step is done independently and the beginning throughout the rest is done with prompting until the steps are done entirely independently
What is shaping
breaking down a behavior
What is an example of shaping
b —> ba —> ball
How is discrimination training done
you reinforce the correct behavior and use extinction for incorrect
What is stimulus control transfer
taking a behavior and making it occur under a different SD ie prompt fading
What is an example of stimulus control transfer
SD is what is 2+2
prompt: 2+2 equals 4
prompt: it is 4
prompt: holding 4 fingers
prompt: no prompt
What are examples of prompting
verbal, gestural, physical, positional, and modeling
What is positional prompting
placing the correct answer closer to the client
What type of reinforcer is token economy
a secondary reinforcer
What are examples of reinforcement schedules
fixed ratio, variable ratio, fixed interval and variable interval
What is FR 5
you would only reinforce on the 5th correct response
What is variable ratio
ion reward is given after an unpredictable average amount of responses
What is FI 2
A reward is given after 2 minutes
What is variable interval
a reward is given for an average amount f time
Differential reinforcement examples
DRA and DRO
What is DRA
reinforcing only the alternative behavior occurs
What is DRO
reinforcing when a behavior is not happening
Antecedent implementing intervention and examples
implementing interventions for situations that occur before the behavior
example if ur client wants to tip things over put it out of their reach
What is an extinction burst
expected increase in behavior when you put a behavior on extinction
Client dignity
treat your client as you would everyone else
Profesionalism
no dual relationships
Supervision
5% of supervision hours in a month
Clinical supervision required
parents ask for parent training
What is positive reinforcement
Occurs when a stimulus is added after a behavior, making the behavior more likely to happen in the future
What is a example of positive reinforcement
giving a high-five and verbal praise after a student raises their hand
What is negative reinforcement
Occurs when a stimulus is removed after a behavior, making the behavior more likely to happen in the future to avoid that stimulus
What is an example of negative reinforcement
A student turns in their homework to stop the teacher from nagging them
Autoclitic
A term describing verbal behavior about the speaker that functions as a reinforcer or MO for additional verbal behavior
Conditioned reinforcement
A reinforcer paired with a primary reinforcer (like learning that 10 tokens gets you iPad time)
Continuous schedule of reinforcement
A schedule of reinforcement that provides reinforcement for each occurrence of the target behavior (like manding for access)
Direct assessment
Occurs when behavior is measured is the same as the behavior that is the focus of the investigation (ABC data
Discrimination
Responding to a different stimuli (like not always using the same spoon to tact)
SD
A stimulus in which a particular response will be reinforced to increase the possibility or reoccurrence
DRI
Reinforcing incompatible behavior (for putting fingers in their mouth reinforce with hands in their pockets since they then can’t put their fingers in their mouths)
Extinction
Ignoring a behavior so it stops attention counts as a reinforcer as well
Echocic
When they repeat the demand like what’s your name and they respond with what’s your name
FBA
A method of assessment to obtain information about the purpose or function of a problem behavior results are then used to design intervention to decrease problem behaviors and increase appropriate behavior
FCT
An atecedent intervention in which appropriate communication behavior is taught as replacement behavior (like asking to get up from their chairs)
High p request or behavior momentum
2-5 easy task before the challenging one
Negative punishment
Removing the stimulus (like time out removing the fun in hopes that it decreases the behavior)
Noncongienent reinforcement
Reinforcement is provided regardless of the behavior that is occurring
Positive punishment
Applying as stimulus in hopes to lower behaviors
