Purpose and Prayer

Purpose 1

Somos hijas de la historia y la experiencia. Our values and our strength derive from where we come from. We come together to support each other, to identify common problems and to define collective solutions. Women, especially Latinas, are placed by their cultures in a tradition of modesty and silence.

Purpose 2

Therefore, we must come forth and manage the many pressures on our roles in society as women, as women of color, as women with strength. We must realize what our sisters have gone through and what they continue to go through. There comes a time to bring together our strengths and our weaknesses to develop what we call women, phenomenal women, dedicated Latina women!

Prayer 1

Thank you for we have finally found the sisterhood we have looked for. We wish to keep growing and learning in order to become better sisters. Give us courage to always stand up for what we believe in. Give us strength to carry each other through good and bad. Give us knowledge to never lead each other a stray.

Prayer 2

Give us common sense to allow ourselves to learn from our mistakes. Give us patience to help us make amends. Give us strong arms to comfort and congratulate. Give us pure hearts to love each other always as we do today. Finally, give us remembrances of our errors so we may lead others to greatness.
