Hero

Protagonist or important person in a myth who often has a mysterious birth and goes on a journey

Myth

A story that explains natural phenomena, values, or lessons for a society

Quest

A search for something; a trip or journey for something.

Mundane World

Our hero finds themselves in a place where they don't want to be.

Call to Action

Someone or something tells the hero there is something else out there.

Crossing the Threshold

The hero crosses into the new world, leaving the old world behind [start of journey].

Path of Trials

The hero goes on a new adventure, meeting new people, learning new skills, mad overcoming challenges,

The Abyss

The hero faces the greatest challenge of the journey and must overcome their greatest fears alone.

Transformation/Healing

Once they have successfully completed the challenge, the hero sees things differently and/or learns something about themself.

Master of Two Worlds

Having succeeded in the new world, the hero returns to the role world as a changed person.
