Tuckman's Stages of Group Development
Model describing the different stages a group goes through
Forming
Stage where group members orient themselves, test group tasks, and depend on the leader (orientation)
Storming
Conflict among group members as they challenge the task, the rules. and the leader (conflict)
Norming
harmony prevails, and the members accept and trust one another while conflicts are avoided (cohesive maturity)
Performing
goes beyond cohesiveness to a point where conflict can be openly discussed and resolved (cohesive maturity)
Reforming
review and evaluate past performance, learn from positive and negative experiences and reorganize for future (cohesive maturity)
