US constitution articles

Article 1: Legislative Branch

Creates Congress (the House of Representatives and Senate) and gives it the power to make laws, collect taxes, declare war, and manage national affairs.

Article 2: The Executive Branch

Creates the presidency and explains the powers and duties of the president and Vice President, Including enforcing laws and serving as commander in chief of the military.

Article 3: Judicial branch

Establishes the federal court system, including the Supreme Court, and it gives it authority to interpret laws and decide legal disputes.

Article 4: States and the Federal Government

Explains how states must work with and respect on another, and describes the process for admitting new states to the union.

Article 5: Amendment Process

Provides the process for changing or amending the Constitution when needed Amendments require approval by the Congress and the states.

Article 6: Supremacy of Federal

Declares that the Constitution, federal laws, and treaties are the supreme law of land and must be followed by state governments.

Article 7: Ratification

Explains how the Constitution would become effective, requiring by nine of the 13 original states.
