Population
A collection for all objects or individuals of interest that have properties that someone wishes to record
Target Population
The entire group a researcher is interested in
Sample
Asking or surveying some of the population or group under consideration
Sample Frame
The tool used to gain access to the population
Random Selection
Characterising a process of selection in which each item has an equal probability of being chosen
Bias
An inaccuracy in data due to the characteristics of the process employed in the creation, collection, manipulation and presentation of data or a faulty sample deisgn
Population variable
A feature of an individual which can be measure. e.g height, age, weight,etc
Risk
Can be thought as a probability and can lead to inaccuracy. Does not mean a bad event that has unpleasant consequences
Poll
Recording a vote
Variable
A quatity or category that can be changed or take different values in an experiment
Estimate
Roughly calculate or judge the value, number, or quantity
Survey
AN investigation in the opinions or experiences of a group of people, based on a series of questions
