Human Geography
One of the two major divisions of geography; the spatial analysis of human phenomena, including population, cultures, activities, and landscapes
Examples: Political Geography, Economic Geography, Population Geography, Urban Geography, and Cultural Geography
Globalization
A set of processes that are increasing interactions, deepening relationships, and accelerating connectedness across country boarders
Examples: Money, Migration, Ideas, and the Making + Trading Goods
Spatial Distribution
A phenomenon (innovation, cultural trait, disease, idea) that spreads from its point of origin over time
Example: The Columbian Exchange
Spatial Diffusion
The arrangement of people, cities and resources across Earth
Examples: Illinois distributes the most corn across America
Spatial Perspective
Looking at where things occur, why they occur where they do, and how places are interconnected
Example: The Chlorea Outbreak Map

Foundational and educational framework used to study Earth, space, and human relationships
The 5 themes: Location, Place, Human + Environment Interaction, Movement, and Region
Absolute Location
The exact location of a place
Example: Chicago is 41.88 degrees North, and 87.63 degrees West
Relative Location
A location in relation to another place
Example: Using (North, East, South, West) to explain where something is
Sense of Place
The feel, identity, or emotions people associate with a place
Example: Disney Worlds sense of place is fun, family, and rides
Distance
The amount of space between places
Example: Chicago’s distance from Indianapolis is 145 miles
Connectivity
Degree of which places are linked or connected
Example: Technology (Internet), Transportation, and Communication
Accessibility
How easy or hard it is to reach somewhere
Example: Highways, Airports, and Trains make it easier to reach somewhere
