• Duration of action of the opioid may exceed that of naloxone, and patient’s may relapse into respiratory depression. Monitor patient closely and repeat dose if if needed

• Respiratory rate increases within 1 to 2 minutes

• Abrupt postoperative reversal of opioid depression may result in adverse CV effects, monitor patient closely.
