PHARMACOLOGY & ACTIONS
• Aspirin inhibits prostaglandin and disrupts platelet function.
• It is also a mild analgesic and anti-inflammatory.
INDICATIONS
• Adult patients with suspected acute coronary syndrome.
ABSOLUTE CONTRAINDICATIONS
• Active GI bleeding.
• If patient has taken 324 mg within the last 24 hours.
• Aspirin allergy.
PRECAUTIONS & SIDE EFFECTS
• May cause GI discomfort and nausea.
• May cause wheezing.
