Rule 59 (Clothing)

Cyclists should avoid clothes that tangle in chains/wheels or cover lights, wear light-coloured/fluorescent clothing in daylight, reflective clothing at night, and a correctly fitted helmet.

Rule 60 (Lights & Reflectors)

At night, a cycle MUST have a white front light, a red rear light, a red rear reflector, and amber pedal reflectors if the bike was made after $1/10/85$.

Rule 61 (Cycle Routes & Facilities)

Includes cycle lanes (white lines), tracks, Advanced Stop Lines (ASLs), and toucan crossings; however, cyclists are not obliged to use these facilities.

Rule 62 (Cycle Tracks)

Routes physically separated from traffic; cyclists MUST keep to the cyclist side and, on shared tracks, slow down and give pedestrians space.

Rule 64 (Pavements)

A mandatory rule stating that cyclists MUST NOT cycle on pavements.

Rule 66 (Group Riding)

Cyclists should ride two abreast when safe, but use single file on narrow or busy roads.

Rule 67 (Passing Parked Vehicles)

Cyclists should leave a door-width gap when passing parked vehicles and watch for pedestrians stepping out.

Rule 68 (Prohibited Actions)

Cyclists MUST NOT carry passengers unless the bike is built for it, hold onto moving vehicles, or ride under the influence of drink or drugs (including medicine).

Rule 71 (Stop Lines at Traffic Lights)

Cyclists MUST NOT cross the stop line on red; at junctions with advanced stop lines, they may cross the first line but MUST NOT cross the final stop line.

Centre of Lane (Rule 72)

Position used on quiet roads, in slow-moving traffic, or approaching junctions/narrowings where overtaking would be unsafe.

Left Side of Lane (Rule 72)

Position used on busy roads to allow faster vehicles to overtake, keeping at least $0.5\,m$ from the kerb.

Rule 74 (Turning Left)

Cyclists should check for other cyclists/motorcyclists before signalling and MUST NOT ride on the inside of vehicles turning left.

Rule 75 (Two-Stage Right Turns)

A process where cyclists go straight to a marked box on green (Stage 1), then complete the turn when the far-side lights turn green (Stage 2).

Rule 76 (Long Vehicles)

Cyclists should take care as large vehicles may swing right before turning left, and their rear wheels may come close to the kerb.

Rule 79 (Roundabout Signaling)

If staying in the left-hand lane while riding around a roundabout, cyclists should signal right to show they are not leaving.

Rule 81 (Crossings)

Cyclists MUST NOT ride across equestrian, pelican, puffin, or zebra crossings; they must dismount and wheel the cycle across.

Rule 82 (Cycle-Only Signalled Crossings)

Special crossings linking cycle tracks where cyclists may ride across, but MUST NOT cross until the green cycle symbol is showing.
