TENS is a method of pain relief that uses mild electrical current to apply stimulation to superficial sensory nerves, influencing pain-emanating signals detected by the spinal cord and brain.

How does burst TENS function differently from standard conventional TENS?
Burst TENS applies identical frequency, pulse width, intensity, and duration, but delivers 2 to 3 bursts at a time to increase the effect on the pain gate theory.
What is the clinical purpose of using modulated TENS?
Modulated TENS changes the pattern of signal delivery to prevent the body from adapting to a repeatedly applied stimulus.
What required elements must be included in clinical record notation for TENS treatment?
