General Miller
North - supported by the British who withdrew in 1919, leaving Miller to have to evacuate
General Semenov
East - Commanded forces in Siberia with support from the Japanese. Lack of control meant there was pillaging, murder and rape. Japanese withdrew and Semenov was defeated in Oct 1920 by Red Army.
Admiral Kolchak
East - 140,000 men. Supported by Czech Legion. Was initially successful but counter-attacks from Red Army and quarrels with Czech Army led to defeat
General Denikin and General Wrangel
South - Denikin had 150,000 men, including Cossacks. Besieged Tsaritsyn, which was crucial for grain supplies to Bolsheviks. Reds defended it well. Attempted to attack Moscow but defeated by Trotsky. Wrangel replaced Denikin, and later Wrangel was evacuated out by the British
General Yudenich
West - 15,000 men. Reached Petrograd Oct 1919 with support of Estonians (wanting independence). Failed to secure railway so Bolsheviks sent reinforcements. Bolsheviks made peace with the Estonians.
