Computer
An electronic device that operates under the control of programs stored in its memory.
CPU (Central Processing Unit)
The brain of the computer that performs calculations and controls other components.
RAM (Random Access Memory)
Temporary storage that holds data and instructions while the computer is running.
Storage
Hard drives or SSDs used for long-term data storage.
Motherboard
The main circuit board that connects and allows communication between all components.
Supercomputer
A computer with extremely high computational capacity, far beyond that of general-purpose systems.
Mainframe Computer
A very large computer used by institutions for bulk data processing and critical applications.
Mid-range Computer
A computer used by medium-sized companies for specific purposes.
Microcomputer
a small, relatively inexpensive computer with a microprocessor as its central processing unit (CPU).
Handheld Computer
A portable computer small enough to be held in one hand.
Desktop Computer
A personal computer designed to be set up on a desk or table.
Laptop Computer
A portable personal computer with integrated display, keyboard, and battery for mobile use.
Multi-touch
A monitor screen that recognizes two or more simultaneous finger touches for input.
Nettop
A small-size, low-voltage, low-power desktop computer.
Netbook
A small, lightweight, inexpensive laptop designed for mobile users.
Tablet PC
A notebook computer equipped with a touchscreen that can be operated with a digital pen or stylus.
Pocket PC
A handheld computer running Windows Pocket PC edition with many desktop features.
PDA (Personal Digital Assistant)
A handheld palmtop computer for personal information management.
Smartphone
A mobile phone that incorporates the features of a pocket PC and PDA.
