Simple random sample

Ex.) Take a sample of 19 fans by using a number generator to select 10 numbers from 1 to 50

Stratified random sample, groups (strata) have something in common-randomly some members from every strata

Randomly select 2 fans from each horizontally row

Convenience

The promoter is standing near the back right of the section, so he asks the 10 fans closest to him

Cluster, groups (clusters) have members that are diverse- randomly select same clusters and include every member

Each column is a cluster. Randomly choose two vertical columns

Systematic sample, population is in a list- pick a random starting point- select every nth one

The promoter decides to sample every 8th fan to get fans that have different views of the stage
