Titration
A technique used to determine the concentration of a solution (analyte) by reacting it with a solution of known concentration (titrant).
NaOH
Sodium hydroxide; its concentration is being determined by titration in this practicum.
HCl
Hydrochloric acid; used as the titrant with a known concentration of 0.10 mol/L.
Volumetric Material
Equipment used for precise measurement of volumes, such as a volumetric flask, pipette, and burette.
Burette
A graduated glass tube with a tap at one end, for delivering known volumes of a liquid, especially in titrations.
Erlenmeyer Flask
A flask with a conical base and a cylindrical neck, used for mixing and titration.
Phenolphthalein
A pH indicator used in titrations; it is colorless in acidic solutions and pink in basic solutions.
Molarity (mol/L)
A unit of concentration, defined as the number of moles of solute per liter of solution.
m/V%
Mass/volume percentage; a way to express concentration as the mass of solute per 100 mL of solution.
