What is the definition of colour?
Colour differentiates surfaces of the same brightness and results from differences in light wavelength absorption and reflection.
What are the three sensation properties of colour?
Hue (colour), Saturation (purity of the colour), and Brightness (light intensity).
What is the function of colour?
Essential for signaling and detection, such as spotting food, determining ripeness, and recognizing traffic signals.
How does wavelength relate to colour?
Wavelength determines colour; white is all wavelengths while black is the absence of light.
What is additive mixing?
Light waves combine to create new colours, for example, blue + green = cyan.
What is subtractive mixing?
Mixing pigments absorbs more wavelengths, reducing reflected light; for example, blue + yellow = green.
What are the types of cone photoreceptors?
S-Type (sensitive to short wavelengths/blue), M-Type (sensitive to medium wavelengths/green), L-Type (sensitive to long wavelengths/red).
Where are most cones concentrated in the eye?
Most cones are concentrated in the fovea.
What does Trichromatic Theory explain?
