Osteoblasts
bone forming cells.
found in area of high metabolism within the bone
osteocytes
mature bone cells that develop from osteoblasts
help maintain helathy bone tissue by secreting enzymes and controlling calcium released from bone tissue into the bloodstream
osteogenic cells
respond to trauma by giving rise to bone forming cells (osteoblasts) and bone destryoing cells (osteoclasts)
bone-lining cells
develop from osteoblasts
they are located along the surfacce of most adult bones
regulate the movement of calcium and phosphate into and out of the bones

develop from hematopoietic stem cells
large multinucleate cells that are located at sites of bone resorption
break down bone tissue and are importnat to bone growth , healing and remodeling
