Trancription and Translation

Transciption

RNA Polymerase attaches to a promoter sequence, then the DNA double helix unwinds. Then, Polymerase reads the template strands, and one by one adding nucleotides to produce a complementary RNA strand (does not remain hydrogen bonded to DNA template)

Translation

The process that decodes an mRNA molecule to produce a specific sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide chain. tRNA is responsible for bringing the amino acids, in order, for polypeptide assembly in the ribosome

What is the difference between transcription and translation?

One is the process of creating RNA, the other is the process of producing amino acids, that can then be used to produce protein
