Recreation

It is an individual’s preferred pleasurable and enjoyable activities in which they engage during leisure time. It is voluntary participation in an activity during free and unobligated time that gives enjoyment. It refreshed one’s mind and body after a day’s work. It embraces both indoor and outdoor activities that refer to sports and exercise, leading to the entertainment of enjoyment as well as managing our desired weight. It refers to the time spent in an activity one loves to engage in, with the intent to feel refreshed. A break from monotony, and diversion from the daily routine, and a positive change from the stereotypical lifestyle.

Leisure

Free time; A quality of experience or as a free time. It is any free time that can be used to pursue personal interests.

Types of Recreational Activities

Physical, Social, Indoor/Outdoor, Arts and Crafts, Musical, Drama and Theater & Service

Physical Activity

It is any movement of the body that requires energy expenditure. this includes any motion you do through the day like walking. Not every physical activity is exercise.

Exercise

It is a type of physical activity. It is a planned, structured, and repetitive activity for the purpose of improving or maintaining physical fitness. It has a goal.

Social Activity

It is anything that brings members of a community together to interact like dancing, games, and street parties.

Arts and Crafts

It describes a wide variety of activities involving making things with one’s own hands. It is usually a hobby. Some crafts (arts skills) have been practiced since prehistotic times, and others are more recent inventions.
