The first law of Th/D describes:
if there is no heat given to the air mass as it rises then dq=0
what does this mean for the temperature?
the temp of the air mass drops continuously as the air mass keeps rising and the pressure keeps falling
What if the temperature equals Td as it rises? what do we have?
we have saturation, and so, condensation of the water vapor that the parcel contain starts at that point
what starts to form when temperature equals Td as the air parcel rises?
a clouds starts to form
What is the cloud base level when it forms?
the altitude where the parcel temperature T becomes equal to Td
