congruent segments
if two segments are congruent, then they have the same length.
congruent angles
if two angles are congruent, then they have the same degree measure
angle bisector
if a ray bisects an angle, then it divides the angle into two congruent angles.
complementary angles
if two angles are complementary, then the sum of their measures is 90 degrees.
supplementary angles
if two angles are supplementary, then the sum of their measures is 180 degrees.
perpendicular lines
if two lines, segments, or rays are perpendicular, then they intersect to create 4 right angles
right angles
if an angle is a right angle, then it has a measure of 90 degrees
midpoint
if a point is a midpoint, then it is between the endpoints and is equidistant from the endpoints a segment.
segment bisctor
if a point, line, or ray bisects a segment, then it divides the segment into two congruent segments.
betweenness off points
Point M is between pounts P and Q, if and only P,Q,M are collinear then PM+MQ =PQ
line segment
if a line is a segment, then it consists of two endpoints and all the points between them.
ray
if a shape is a way, then it is part of a line with one endpoint that extends infinitely in one direction.
opposite rays
if two rays have a common endpoint and extend in opposite directions, then they are opposite rays
angle
angle if a shape is an angle, then it is formed by the union of two rays with a common endpoint
adjacent angles
if two angles have a common side but no common interior points, then they are adjacent angles.
linear pair
if two angles are adjacent and the noncommon sides are opposite rays, then they are a linear pair.
vertical angles
if two non-adjacen angles are formed by intersecting lines, then they are vertical lines.
Linear pair theorem
if two angles form a linear pair, then they are supplementary (No converse)
Verticle angle theorem
if two angles are vertical, then they are congruent (no converse)
