Tybalt getting straight to the point exaggerating his clear hatred for Montagues and his urge to fight them

she has no choice to hate montagues but she cannot change that she loves romeo presenting her inner conflict she cant change how she feels - she’s controlled by this feud
“old accustom’d feast” between tybalt and capulet
when tybalt sees romeo he states that the “villan is a guest” and he shall not “endure him” characterising tybalts hot-headedness but also capulets loyalty to protect his family. this portrays masculinity in shakespearean times, men filled with violence and rage.

this belittles and patronises tybalt, making him seem silly, forcing tybalt to shamefully “withdraw”.

he wants to slap her- shows how violence is a way of life in verona, however it also shows his power as he uses selfcontrol to not slap her, which wouldnt be the case for many men for example tybalt and romeo both act irrationally throughout the play especially with violence
“these violent delights have violent ends” friar
foreshadowing the future, these delights that r and j give each other will violently end, in their death
