Each state retains power, authority, and independence

The combined states are responsible for protecting each other from attacks

Travel freely state to state, criminals sent back to home state for trail

Congress, each state 1 vote, and send 2-7 people to participate

Government responsible for work with countries, trade, and war

Article 7

States choose own military leaders

Article 8

State government had to raise money to give to new central government

Article 9

Only central government had power to declare war, and make peace, and for assigning ambassadors to represent U.S in other countries

Article 10

Created committee of states who act for congress if congress wasn’t working

Article 11

Canada could join nation if wanted

Article 12

New nation agreed to pay for earlier war debts

Article 13

Articles of confederation were forever and can only e changed by congress if all states agreed
