Nucleus
The organelle that contains the cell's genetic material, organized as DNA in the form of chromosomes. It regulates gene expression and mediates the replication of DNA during the cell cycle.
Cell Membrane
A protective barrier that surrounds the cell, controlling the movement of substances in and out of the cell.
Cell Wall
A rigid outer layer of the cell that provides structural support and protection, primarily found in plant cells, fungi, and some prokaryotes.
Cytoplasm
The gel-like substance within the cell membrane that houses organelles and facilitates cellular processes. It is composed mainly of water, salts, and proteins.
Ribosomes
Molecular machines that synthesize (create) proteins by translating messenger RNA.
Chloroplast
Organelles found in plant cells that conduct photosynthesis by converting light energy into chemical energy in the form of glucose (sugar).
Nucleolus
A dense structure within the nucleus that is responsible for producing and assembling ribosome components.
Mitochondria
Organelles known as the powerhouse of the cell, responsible for producing ATP (energy) through aerobic respiration.
Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER)
A network of membranes within the cell, involved in protein and lipid synthesis (creation), as well as the processing and transport of molecules in the cell!.
Golgi Bodies (Or Golgi Complex)
Organelles that modify, sort, and package proteins and lipids for secretion (removal) or delivery to other organelles.
Vacuoles
Storage organelles that store nutrients, water, and help in waste disposal.
Lysosomes
Membrane-bound organelles containing enzymes that break down waste materials and cellular debris (waste).
