What is the Transactional Model in communication?
A model describing how information is created, sent, received, and interpreted through a continuous process involving the message, the sender, the receiver, encoding, decoding, channel, and noise.
What is the Message in the Transactional Model?
The information being communicated.
Who is the Sender in the Transactional Model?
The person who creates and sends the message.
Who is the Receiver in the Transactional Model?
The person who receives and interprets the message.
What does Encode mean in this model?
The process of putting thoughts/ideas into symbols (words, gestures, etc.).
What does Decode mean in this model?
The process of interpreting and making sense of symbols.
What is a Channel in the Transactional Model?
The medium through which the message travels (face-to-face, text, call, etc.).
What is Noise in the Transactional Model?
Anything that interferes with communication (external, internal, semantic).
What are the types of Noise mentioned?
