FRANK SR AND JR: I am not leaving France without that woman.
I always get into trouble when I dance with you.
FRANK JR: It’s like hullabaloo is right here in our living room!
But- so that I understand- you left this morning with a Cadillac and two hundred dollars and come back with a television and a used Ford?
FRANK SR: Can I strike a bargain or what? I left those guys with their heads spinning.
I think I know the feeling.
FRANK SR: It's that Abagnale magic. C'mon - dance with me.
Frank, I have dinner going -
FRANK SR: Nothing’s too good for my family.
I hope you got the loan.
FRANK SR: … There's always another move to make.
I really should see to dinner.
FRANK JR and J BARNES: - the most popular businessman in New Rochelle!
Frankie, why are you wearing your old school blazer? You’re going to public school now.
FRANK JR: It’s only temporary. Dad’ll get back on his feet and I’ll be back at St. Francis before you know it. The Flash isn’t the Flash without his uniform.
My brave little soldier. You aren’t afraid of anything.
FRANK JR: You do what you have to do.
And you do look handsome. Comme tu es beau!
PRINCIPAL: Mr. and Mrs. Abagnale, I regret to inform you that for the past week, Frank has been teaching Mrs. Glaser’s French class.
He what?
PRINCIPAL: … planning a class field trip to a French Fry Factory in Trenton.
You have to forgive him. There’s been so much change. We lost the house-
FRANK SR: Principal Owings, on my way in from the outer office, I found this necklace on the floor. Is it yours?
Frank, please.
PRINCIPAL: Well. Mister Abagnale.
FRANKIE.
FRANK JR: Mom, Dad, I met this girl-
Frankie! You remember your father’s friend, Jack Barnes?
JACK BARNES: Frank. Good to see you. Paula, take care.
Are you hungry, Frankie? I’ll make you a sandwich.
Frankie?
You’re not going to tell him.
FRANK JR: No.
That’s right. There’s nothing to tell.
I’m going out for a few hours to visit some old friends from the tennis club, and when I get home, we’ll all have dinner together, right?
Do you need some money, Frankie? To buy some comic books? Here, take two dollars.
FRANK JR: Two hundred soldiers in that tiny social hall, and you… you…
I was sixteen years old when I met your father. I was your age. How could I know what I wanted? Dites donc?
FRANK JR: You wanted him.
I wanted to get out of France. And I wanted to have a child.
It was a long time ago, Frankie. Believe me, one day you’ll look at yourself, and you won’t be who you were.
JUDGE: It can get very expensive, people fighting over their children.
Nobody’s fighting. Look at me, Frankie. Nobody’s fighting.
FRANK JR (SUNG): This kinda noise just makes me wanna shout.
My brave little soldier. Do what you have to do.
HANRATTY: … Too bad she was some poor kid’s mother.
I haven’t seen Frankie, since he ran away.
HANRATTY: If I could just look at a photo…
I don’t have a recent one. Here… his junior class yearbook…
HANRATTY: That’s him. Heavens to Betsey, that’s him. Class treasurer?
Is my Frankie in some sort of trouble?
HANRATTY: Ma’am, your son’s in a great deal of trouble. He’s passing bad checks, forging government documents-
Half of the kids his age are on dope but you chase after Frankie because he made a little mistake? Tant pis. Tell me how much, I’ll write you a check.
HANRATTY: So far it’s one point four million dollars.
Ce n’est pas possible.
Oh it’s possible. Unlikely, but possible.
He must be good at this.
HANRATTY: You haven’t heard from him since you left your husband?
I’m to blame. Is that what you’re saying?
HANRATTY: I don’t do blame, ma’am. I just catch the bad guys.
Frankie was the result of a night of passion in a fourth rate hotel in Normandy. Two adults who should have known better. Nobody wins. Least of all Frankie.
HANRATTY: How might I locate your son?
Ask his father. He says Frankie writes to him.
HANRATTY: And where can I find his father?
Check the bars in town.
