The primary components common to residential gas-fired forced-air heating and cooling systems, including air ducts, burner, blower, filter, evaporator, condensing unit, and thermostat.

Thermostat

Component that controls system operation from a central location.

Supply ducts

Ducts that transport conditioned air to rooms.

Return ducts

Ducts that guide indoor air back to the furnace.

Blower section

A section in a furnace consisting of a motor and fan that provides forced airflow to circulate air in the home.

A coil

Component that operates as the evaporator inside the supply plenum.
