Personal Domain
The inner world of an individual, encompassing thoughts, feelings, values, identity, and self-concept.
Social Domain
The outer world of an individual, including experiences with family, friends, school, community, and communication.
Self-awareness
The ability to recognize and understand one's own emotions, thoughts, strengths, weaknesses, values, and their impact on others.
Open Area (Johari Window)
Also known as the 'Arena,' this represents knowledge and behaviors that are known to both the individual and others.
Blind Spot (Johari Window)
Aspects of a person that are visible to others but unknown to the individual themselves.
Hidden Area (Johari Window)
Also known as the 'Facade,' these are things known by the individual but kept secret or chosen not to be shared with others.
Unknown Area (Johari Window)
Aspects of an individual that are unknown to both the person themselves and everyone else.
Self-acceptance
Acknowledging and embracing who you are, including your strengths, weaknesses, mistakes, and experiences, without judging yourself too harshly.
Positive Self-talk
The practice of replacing negative internal narratives, such as 'I'm a failure,' with constructive thoughts, such as 'I made a mistake, but I can improve.'
The Social Media Trap
The tendency to compare one's own life to the edited results (highlights and successes) of others on social media, which can steal joy.
Self-regulation
The ability to manage emotions, control thoughts, and choose behaviors, especially in challenging or difficult situations.
The Self-Regulation Process
A four-step method for responding rather than reacting: 1. Stop (Pause), 2. Think (Identify feelings and choices), 3. Choose (Align with values), and 4. Act (Respond calmly).
Impulsive Decisions
Acting without thinking first, which can lead to negative consequences and regrets.
Procrastination
The act of delaying tasks, which ultimately increases stress at a later time.
Emotional Outbursts
Losing control of emotions in a way that can cause harm to oneself or others.
