ASIA impairment scale
Classify the severity of a spinal cord injury
A = complete no sensory, motor, or scarral sparing
B = incomplete, no motor, sensory only
C = 50% of muscles less than grade 3 ( no leg or arms off bed)
D = 50% muscles more than grade 3
E = normal
Glasgow Coma Scale
assess a person's level of consciousness and measure the severity of brain injurie
Eye-Opening (1–4 Points)
Verbal Response (1–5 Points)
Motor Response (1–6 Points)
The Modified Ashworth Scale
measuring muscle spasticity and increased muscle tone
0 = no increase in tone
1= slight increase in tone ( catch and release or minimal resistance at end ROM)
1+ = catch the resistance throughout the remainder of the motion ( half ROM)
2 = increase in tone throughout most rom
3 = a lot of tone passive movement is hard
4= rigid
edema scale
1+ = slight indentation
2+= indentation that rebounds after 15 seconds
3+= big depression that rebounds 15- 30 seconds
4+ = big depression that rebounds after 30 seconds
