Avascular Necrosis (osteonecrosis)

an area of bone tissue death caused by insufficient blood flow; often the hip

Osteitis

inflammation of a bone

Osteomalacia (adult ricksts)

abnormal softening of bones in adults

Osteomyelitis

inflammation of the bone marrow and adjacent bone

(myel = bone marrow)

Paget’s disease

a chronic bone disease of unknown cause names for Sir James Paget; abdnormal breakdown of bone and bone formation.

Periostitis

inflammation of the periosteum

Radiculopathy

condition cause by the compression of a nerve in the spine, often referred to as pinched nerve

Rickets

deficiency disease occuring in children

Spinal Stenosis

a narrowing of the spaces within the spine, potentially putting pressure on nerves and apinal cord thatt may cause pain.

Short Statue (dwarfism)

condition resulting from the failure of bones of the limbs to grow to appropriate length compared to the size of the head and trunk

Clubfoot (talipes)

any congenital deformity of the foot involving the talus (anke bone)

Pimary bone cancer

a relatively rare malignant tumor that originates in a bone

Secondary bone cancer (bone metastasis)

occurs when cancer spreads to the bones from other organs; breasts, prostate, or lungs

Multiple Myeloma

type of cancer that occurs in blood-making plasma cells found in the red bone marrow

An osteochondroma

a benign bony projection covered with cartilage
