Convey
To express, show, or communicate an idea or feeling to the reader.
Illustrate
To make clear or show something by providing examples, evidence, or details.
Demonstrate
To show clearly by giving proof, evidence, or logical reasoning.
Portray / Portrayal
To depict, describe, or represent a character or idea in a specific way.
Transform
To change thoroughly in form, appearance, or character.
Objective Summary
A short statement or paragraph that tells the main points of a text without adding personal opinions or feelings.
Pacing
The speed at which a story unfolds or how fast/slow events seem to move for the reader.
Tension
A feeling of fear, nervousness, suspense, or excitement created by an author when characters face conflict.
Tone
The author’s attitude toward the subject, character, or audience, expressed through their word choice.
Reluctant Hero
A character who is called to perform heroic acts or face danger, but does so unwillingly, fearfully, or hesitantly.
Motivation
The underlying reason, desire, or goal that drives a character to think, act, or react in a certain way.
Restraint
Self-control; holding back from acting impulsively or violently.
Idealized
Regarded or presented as perfect or better than reality; seen through an overly admiring lens.
