Discussion Questions & Statements: (You MUST answer in at least two or more sentences...not ONE word answers.)
1. What are the "3" Benchmarks of a Christian:

A. The Commandment Test- If you are truly saved, you will have a desire to follow God's commandments and will feel conviction or remorse if you sin. Anyone who deliberately, knowingly and habitually sins, is not born again (saved) and following Jesus.

B. The Companion Test- If you say you love God, but do not have love for your brother & sisters, you are a LIAR and God's love is not in you. No one who hates his brother can truly be a child of God, for God's love is not in Him.

C. The Commitment Test - If you once believed in Him, you should still believe in Him. Your faith should not be past-tense, but present-tense. Your commitment & dedication to Jesus should be on going, not "one and done."

Discussion Questions & Statements: (You MUST answer in at least two or more sentences...not ONE word answers.)

  2. "Pain is to the Body what Doubt is to the Spirit" (What does the statement mean)

Pain tells the body that something is wrong and is a warning sign to seek help. In the same way, doubt is a warning sign to the Spirit that someone's spirit is in danger and that person should seek the Lord for complete assurance of their salvation. Pain is also a sign that someone is alive. A dead person cannot feel anything.

3. The Church is the BODY of Christ (Explain what this means) Jesus is the HEAD of the Church and the BODY is His people, who know, love Him and follow Him. Jesus grieves when anyone hurts the body, because they are an extension of Him.

4. The Church is the BRIDE of Christ (Explain what this means)  Jesus is the Groom and the Bride is God's people, those who are truly saved. In Revelations it says that, "Jesus will return for his Bride and take his Bride to be with him for all eternity, but the Bride does not know the day or the hour that Jesus will return. Just as a Groom loves his Bride, Jesus Loves his Church.

BONUS Question: (2 parts: 1-Write out the quote, 2- Explain what it means) - worth 10 pts.

1- "SIN will TAKE you farther than you want to go, make you STAY longer than you want to stay and make you PAY more than you want to pay." (a quote by Dr. Adrian Rogers)
2- What does this quote mean?  Sin TAKES you- it leads you astray and moves you farther from God.  Sin Makes you STAY longer- it entangles and traps you, like an insect caught in a spider's web, Sin makes you PAY- Sin has consequences. We can choose our actions to sin, but we do not get to choose our consequences. Consequences of sin will not only hurt and affect US, but also hurt & affect other people. (family, friends & more)
