What does Bernoulli’s equation describe?
describes the equilibrium of the pressure, kinetic energy, and potential energy between two points in a flowing liquid.
How does Bernoulli’s equation work when applied to the punctured tank?
The potential energy drives the kinetic energy. Often times you can assume vi = 0 and if you set the reference height of the hole y2 as the reference, the equation just simplifies to EP = Ek. also P1 and P2 are just atmospheric pressure so they cancel out.
What is the ratio between m3 and 1kg?
1000m3 = 1kg, so know this for the density equations, often time they will try to trick you this way
An unstrechted spring at its equilirbiyum point has how much elastic potential energy?
0 J, it’s at equilibrium dummy
During electrophorus where do the negatively charged proteins accelerate towards?
they accelerate towards the positively charged anode
how does decreasing anode/cathode distance affect the acceleration of the protein?
Fe=ma, Fe=qE, E = V/d, , qE/dm = a
what are the units of the boltzman constant?
1.381 × 10^-25 J/K, this b/c formula is J = 3/2 kb x T, so J/k x K = J = KE
