Pre-Training Packet Exam Passing Score

80% or higher on Day 1 of training, with no retakes allowed.

Training Per Diem Rate

$54 per day received while in training to be used for daily expenses.

Alcohol Regulation for Flight Attendants

Alcohol cannot be consumed within 12 hours of your report time, which also applies during training.

Exit Seat Briefing

"Hello, my name is ____________ and I need your attention for a few minutes. I'd like to remind you that you are seated in an emergency exit seat. Please take a minute to review the exit operation and exit seat requirements on the safety information card. In the event of an emergency, you will need to assist with the evacuation. Please provide a verbal confirmation that you are comfortable with this responsibility. Do you have any questions? Thank you for your attention and enjoy your flight on Breeze!"

Captain

Pilot in command of the flight; occupies the left seat in the flight deck.

First Officer

Pilot second in command; occupies the right seat in the flight deck.

Chief Pilot

Manager of all Pilots.

Crewmember

Captain, First Officer, or Flight Attendant.

Flight Crewmember

A pilot assigned to duty during a flight (i.e., Captain, or First Officer).

Director of Operations

A Management Pilot position required by Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR).

Situational Awareness

Behavior of a crewmember being constantly aware of what is happening around them during a flight.

Airstairs

Stairs used to board or deplane an aircraft; also called a Ramp Stand.

Fixed Based Operator (FBO)

Airport facilities typically associated with private aircraft.

Operations

The communications center of the airline at headquarters or a given airport.

Ramp Service Agent

Breeze Team Member or Contractor who works below the wing of the aircraft.

Taxi

The movement of the aircraft to/from the runway and the gate.

Able-Bodied Person (ABP)

A person selected by crewmembers to assist in an emergency situation if requested.

Guest

Person traveling aboard an aircraft; Breeze Airways term for a Customer or Passenger.

Revenue Guest

A Guest that pays a fare for their ticket.

Non-Revenue Guest

A Guest that is traveling on a free or service-charge ticket (usually an employee).

Through Flight

A flight that makes an intermediate stop without changing the flight number; Breeze uses the term "Breeze Thru".

Through Guest

A Guest who is continuing on after a scheduled stop.

Unaccompanied Minor

A child Guest not accompanied by an adult.

Aft

The rear of the aircraft; as a direction, toward the tail of the plane.

Aircraft Left

The left side of the aircraft if you are facing forward toward the Flight Deck.

Aircraft Right

The right side of the aircraft if you are facing forward toward the Flight Deck.

Boarding

When a Guest is allowed onto the aircraft; also known as enplaning.

Bulkhead

Any dividing partition in the cabin of an aircraft.

Deplaning

When a Guest is leaving the aircraft.

Flight Deck

The area of the aircraft where the pilots sit and the aircraft is controlled.

Forward

The front portion of the aircraft; as a direction, toward the Flight Deck.

Fuselage

The body of the airplane.

Galley

The "kitchen" area of the aircraft where service items/supplies are stowed/prepared.

Jumpseat

A retractable seat that Flight Attendants sit in for taxi, takeoff, and landing.

Lavatory

Restroom on the aircraft.

Pressurization

When an aircraft is pressurized as close to sea level as possible.

Charter

A flight where a group of individuals (like a tour group or sports team) rents the entire plane.

Deadhead

Crewmember travel for duty at the direction of the company.

Domicile

The base of operation where a crewmember is assigned.

Ferry

Transfer of an aircraft from one point to another without revenue Guests.

Intermediate Stop

Any city where a flight stops between its origination and termination point.

Layover

Time spent between flights at a city other than a crewmember's domicile.

Non-Stop Flight

A flight that goes from one city to another without interruption or intermediate stops.

Recurrent

Training required by the FAA on a regular basis—usually annually.

Released

When Crew Services officially relieves a crewmember from duty.

Turn or Turn Time

The time spent readying the aircraft for its next departure.

Turnaround

A flight that originates and returns to the same location on the same day.

Team Member

Any Breeze Airways employee.
