Human Heart
An organ that serves as a pump in the body, continuously circulating blood from all parts of the body to ensure oxygen and nutrient delivery.
Veins
Blood vessels that carry blood towards the heart, such as the superior vena cava and inferior vena cava.
Arteries
Blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart, like the aorta and pulmonary arteries.
Right Atrium
The chamber of the heart where blood from the body enters, specifically from the superior and inferior vena cava.
Tricuspid Valve
A valve between the right atrium and right ventricle with three flaps to prevent backflow of blood.
Pulmonary Valve
A valve that directs blood from the right ventricle to the pulmonary arteries leading to the lungs.
Lungs
Organs where blood picks up oxygen and releases carbon dioxide, changing the blood from blue (deoxygenated) to red (oxygenated).
Left Atrium
The chamber of the heart where oxygenated blood from the lungs enters before passing to the left ventricle.
Mitral Valve
A valve between the left atrium and left ventricle that ensures blood flows in one direction, preventing backflow.
Aortic Valve
The valve between the left ventricle and the aorta, allowing blood to be pumped out to the rest of the body.
