Upper Articulators
Structures in the upper vocal tract, listed in the notes as the almaral ridge and hand palate.
Lower Articulators
Structures in the lower vocal tract, listed in the notes as danum, tongue apex (tip), and lamina.
Labial
A place of articulation involving the lips, associated with the phonemes [p], [b], and [m].
Labiodental
A place of articulation involving the lips and teeth (noted as Labia dental), associated with the phonemes [v] and [f].
Dental
A place of articulation involving the teeth and tongue, associated with the 'th' sound in 'these'.
Velar
A place of articulation involving the soft palate and tongue dorsum, associated with phonemes [k], [g], and [ng].
Glottal
A place of articulation involving the glottis, associated with the sound in 'happy' and the glottal stop.
Alveolar Ridge Articulation
Articulation involving the alveolar ridge (noted as almaral, dedmaral, or Alucral ridge) and the tongue apex or blade, producing sounds such as [t], [d], [r], [s], [z], [S], [Z], [tS], and [dZ].
