by nerve impulses from the autonomic nervous system

what do the cardiac muscles look like?

they are branched

what do cardiac muscle cells look like?

single nucleus with each cell being separated by intercalated discs

are skeletal muscles voluntary or involuntary?

voluntary

what do skeletal muscles move?

they move bone (usually)

how do skeletal muscles act?

they are faster, but have lesser contractions

what do skeletal muscle cells look like?

they are multinucleated and have striation (or lines) running perpendicular to the muscle cell fiber

3 types of connective tissue surrounding muscle

epimysium, endomysium, perimysium

epimysium

connective tissue that surrounds the entire muscle

endomysium

connective tissues that wraps each individual muscle fiber (cell)

perimysium

the connective tissue that wraps around a bundle (12 or more) muscle fibers. bundle called a fascicle

what do muscle cells do when contracted?

they pull on connective tissue, which then pulls on the bones, then that moves the skeleton.
