CSWA certification
An entry level certification designed to measure the SOLIDWORKS skills of pre-professional users.
Before starting the exam:
Open SolidWorks, open new part file, set units, and set material.
Global Variables
Used in SOLIDWORKS in both Sketches and Features to control the value of a dimension.
Model View
A single view based on a predefined view orientation.
Projected View
A projected view is an orthographic projection of a parent view at 90 degrees. (Right, Top, Left, B
Auxiliary View
An auxiliary view is a projected view that is normal to a reference edge.
Section View
Created by cutting the parent view using a section line in order to see inside details.
Partial Section View
A section view that does not cut through the entire model.
Aligned Section View
Special types of section views that allow you to show details of a section created at an angle.
are commonly used for drawing with rotational symmetry such as wheels or flanges that have holes or other features arrayed in a circular pattern.
Aligned Section View
In an aligned section view, if a standard section line cannot be drawn vertically or horizontally to go through the center of a feature then is used that does not line up with the parent view.
angled section line
Broken-Out Section View
Cut away a portion of an assembly in order to expose the inside.
Detail View
Show portions of a model that are difficult to see in the parent view.
Relative to Model View
Define views by selecting any face from the model that does not require a parent view or have a view arrow.
Standard 2 View
Creates 3 default orthographic views of the model (Top, Front, Right Side).
Break View
Create a break/gap in a model so that the view can fit on a smaller drawing sheet.
Cropped View
Omit a portion of a view and are enclosed using a sketch, such as a spline, and is similar to a detail view but does not create an additional zoomed in view.
Alternate Position View
Show a range of motion in a 2D drawing and will usually be an assembly and a superimposed view in a different line font indicating how one or more components can move.
It is possible to have multiple Alternate Position Views in a single drawing. True or false?
True
Empty View
Can be used to hold manually sketch entities in a drawing
Predefined View
Used to preselect model orientations, positions, and scales to use one a drawing template.
