British=1.5million settlers, small space= less land to defend, more motivation, help from Iroquois/ French=help from Hurons + Algonquians, French have soldiers(British mostly have farmers)

Ohio River Valley. English wanted to land to expand because they had lots of settlers. French wanted to stop English expansion and it was important for their fur trade.

Algonquians and the French attacked Fort William Henry after Edward Braddock died. They won. But then William Pitt won it back with his three pronged attack.

Why is the capture of Fort Louisbourg so important?
This was the fort that was the turning point for the English because Fort Ticonderoga and Fort Duquesne fell soon after.
What Battles led to the fall of New France and how did the British win?
General Wolfe made a plan to surprise the French Fort Quebec in the morning using a path made by a washer woman. They won the battle. Quebec was where all their resources were so without Quebec New France fell.
What was the role of the Spanish in the French and Indian war?
Spanish on the French side. After the French lost they felt bad because the Spanish had to give up their land(Florida) to the English, so they gave them a chunk of their land.
What was William Pitt’s role in the French and Indian War?
Became Prime Minister, which is when he made the three pronged attack on the French Forts, Ft. Louisbourg, Ft.Ticonderoga and Ft.Duquesne. He sent hundreds of ships, soldiers, and resources which led to the fall of all three.
