What was the proclamation of 1763?
A law that forbid British colonists from setting into the Ohio River Valley.
Why was the Proclamation of 1763 passed?
To prevent tensions with Natives that inhibited the land, and French that claimed land.

French Fort Duquesne ignored warning from Virginian Militia about their encroachment on British lands, and eventually lead to a failed attack on the French fort.
