Shoulder Flexion
- Axis: Lateral aspect of GH joint
- Stationary Arm: Parallel to lateral midline of the trunk
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to the longitudinal axis of the humerus on the lateral aspect.
Shoulder ABduction
- Axis: Posterior aspect of GH joint
- Stationary Arm: Along the trunk, parallel to the spine
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to longitudinal axis of the humerus
Shoulder Horizontal ABduction
- Axis: On top of the acromion process
- Stationary Arm: Across the shoulder, posterior to the neck ad in line with the opposite acromion process.
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to longitudinal axis of the humerus on the superior aspect.
Shoulder Horizontal ADduction
- Axis: On top of the acromion process
- Stationary Arm: Across the shoulder, posterior to the neck and in line with the opposite acromion process.
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to the longitudinal axis of the humerus on the superior aspect.
Shoulder Internal Rotation
- Axis: Olecranon process of the ulna
- Stationary Arm: Perpendicular to the floor
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ulna.
Shoulder External Rotation
- Axis: Olecranon process of the ulna.
- Stationary Arm: Perpendicular to the floor
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ulna.
Elbow Flexion
- Axis: Lateral epicondyle of the humerus
- Stationary Arm: Parallel to the longitudinal axis of the humerus on the lateral aspect.
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to the longitudinal axis of the radius
Forearm Supination
- Axis: Volar side of wrist, in line with ulnar styloid
- Stationary Arm: Perpendicular to the floor (parallel with humerus)
- Moveable Arm: Along the radius while Pt performs motion.
Forearm Pronation
- Axis: Dorsal aspect of wrist, in line with ulnar styloid.
- Stationary Arm: Perpendicular to the floor
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to dorsal aspect of wrist
Wrist Flexion
- Axis: Dorsal side of hand, in line with capitate.
- Stationary Arm: Along the midline of the dorsal surface of the forearm.
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to the 3rd metacarpal.
Wrist Extension
- Axis: In line with the 3rd metacarpal on the volar side.
- Stationary Arm: Parallel to midline of the volar forearm.
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to the 3rd metacarpal
Ulnar Deviation
- Axis: Over the capitate on the dorsal side
- Stationary Arm: Along the midline of the forearm on the dorsal surface.
- Moveable Arm: Along the 3rd metacarpal.
Radial Deviation
- Axis: Over the capitate on the dorsal side.
- Stationary Arm: Along the midline of the forearm on the dorsal surface.
- Moveable Arm: Along the midline of the 3rd metacarpal.
MCP Flexion
- Axis: On the dorsal side aspect of the MP joint.
- Stationary Arm: Parallel to metacarpal
- Moveable Arm: On dorsal surface along proximal phalanx of thumb

DIP Flexion - Have patient go in intrinsic minus position.
- Axis: On dorsal surface of finger being measured.
- Stationary Arm: On dorsal surface along proximal phalanx of the finger being measured.
- Moveable Arm: On the dorsal surface along the distal phalanx of the finger being measured.
PIP Flexion - Have patient make a fist
- Axis: On the dorsal aspect of PIP joint of the finger being measured.
- Stationary Arm: Dorsal surface of proximal phalange of finger being measured.
- Moveable Arm: Dorsal surface of middle phalange of finger being measured
CMC ABduction (TEXTBOOK)
- Axis: Over the trapezium on the dorsal aspect of the hand.
- Stationary Arm: On the dorsal surface parallel to the 2nd metacarpal.
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to the 1st metacarpal.
CMC Extension (TEXTBOOK)
- Axis: On volar side of the wrist at the junction of the base of the 1st metacarpal and the trapezium.
- Stationary Arm: Parallel to the longitudinal axis of the radius.
- Moveable Arm: Parallel to the longitudinal axis of the 1st metacarpal.
